Collection: Bedding | Duvets, Sheets & Mattress Protectors

We stock about 40 bedding products at our Brantford showroom (441 1/2 West St) - duvets, sheets, mattress protectors, and pillow cases. Most customers spend $180-$450 for a complete queen bedding set depending on fill quality and fabric choice.

Down Duvets

Our Canadian Hutterite down duvets use loft ratings: 625 for most people, 700 for cold sleepers, 800-850 for extreme cold. The loft number tells you fill power - how much space one ounce of down fills. Higher loft means warmer and longer-lasting. Canadian Hutterite down costs $380-$580 but lasts 20+ years with dry cleaning and proper care.

Synthetic down alternative duvets run $89-$189 and you can machine wash them at home. Good for allergies or kids who spill things. They last 5-8 years versus 15-20 for real down. Check our duvet collection to compare.

Bed Sheets

We carry bamboo sheets ($99-$149), Egyptian cotton ($89-$139), microfiber ($49-$79), and French linen ($149-$229). Thread count matters less than people think - 400-600 is the quality range. Higher than 800 is often marketing fluff. Bamboo sleeps coolest, cotton is classic, microfiber is budget-friendly and wrinkle-resistant.

Deep pocket sheets (17-18 inch pockets) fit thick mattresses and pillow tops. Regular pocket (14-15 inches) works for standard mattresses. Queen sheet sets run $79-$189 depending on material. Our bed sheet collection has all sizes from twin to California king.

Mattress Protectors

Every mattress needs a waterproof protector ($59-$189) for warranty coverage and stain protection. We stock basic waterproof ($59-$79), cooling protectors with temperature regulation ($89-$129), and premium options with bed bug barriers ($139-$189). The protector pays for itself by extending mattress life 3-5 years. See our mattress protector options.

Complete Bedding Sets

We put together complete bedding packages: sheets, duvet, duvet cover, mattress protector, and pillowcases. Queen packages run $380-$680 depending on quality level. King packages are $480-$880. This saves you 10-15 percent versus buying pieces separately. Dorothy helps coordinate colors and materials so everything matches.

French linen bedding is our premium option - gets softer with every wash and lasts 10-15 years. The relaxed texture looks elegant. Prices are higher ($149-$229 for queen sheets) but the per-year cost works out better than replacing cheap sheets every 2-3 years.

Bedding Questions

What is included in a complete bedding set?

A complete bedding set includes fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet or comforter, duvet cover, mattress protector, and pillowcases. Queen sets run $380-$680 depending on quality. King sets are $480-$880. Buying a complete set saves 10-15 percent versus individual pieces.

What is the difference between 625, 700, and 800 loft duvets?

The loft number is fill power - how much space one ounce of down fills. 625 loft works for most people and moderate climates. 700 loft is extra warm for cold sleepers. 800 loft is our warmest with maximum softness. Higher loft means better quality down and longer lifespan.

Are bamboo sheets worth the extra cost?

Bamboo sheets ($99-$149 for queen) sleep cooler than cotton and resist wrinkles better than linen. They last 5-8 years with proper care. Good for hot sleepers or people who hate ironing. Cotton sheets ($89-$139) are classic and breathable. Both are way better than cheap microfiber that pills after a few washes.

Do I need deep pocket sheets for my mattress?

Measure your mattress height. Standard sheets fit mattresses up to 14 inches thick. Deep pocket sheets (17-18 inch pockets) are needed for pillow tops, thick foam mattresses, or if you use a mattress topper. Too-small pockets pop off corners during the night.

Can I wash down duvets at home?

We recommend dry cleaning down duvets to maintain loft and prevent clumping. If you must wash at home, use a large capacity washer on gentle cycle with mild detergent and tennis balls to refluff the down. Always use a duvet cover to protect the duvet and reduce washing frequency to once or twice per year.

What bedding do you stock at the Brantford showroom?

We stock sheets (bamboo, cotton, microfiber, linen), duvets (down and synthetic), duvet covers, mattress protectors (waterproof and cooling), and pillowcases in all sizes. Visit 441 1/2 West St, Brantford to see and feel quality. Call 519-770-0001 to check specific colors and sizes before visiting.

How often should I replace bedding?

Sheets: 2-5 years depending on quality. Down duvets: 15-20 years. Synthetic duvets: 5-8 years. Mattress protectors: 3-5 years or when they lose waterproofing. Duvet covers: 5-10 years. Buy quality once instead of replacing cheap bedding every year.

What is French linen bedding?

French linen is made from flax grown in Normandy, France. It gets softer with every wash (opposite of cotton that wears out). Linen regulates temperature - cool in summer, warm in winter. The relaxed texture looks elegant. Prices are higher ($149-$229 for queen sheets) but linen lasts 10-15 years.

Do you sell bedding gift sets?
