Dorothy started in mattress retail more than 40 years ago, before pocketed coils were the standard and when memory foam was still a NASA curiosity. Over four decades she has worked at several Canadian mattress retailers, from regional chains to family-run independents, and she has personally fitted customers to mattresses from virtually every brand sold in North America: Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Stearns and Foster, Tempur-Pedic, Restonic, Kingsdown, Sleep In, plus dozens of regional and private-label lines.
At Mattress Miracle, Dorothy is the institutional memory. When a customer walks in with a 1995 Sealy that has finally given out and asks for "the closest thing today," Dorothy is the one who knows exactly what that mattress was, how it was built, and what current model translates faithfully. She also coordinates delivery logistics and handles the customer-fitting side that benefits from someone who has seen every conceivable bedroom situation.
