RV, Bunk and Custom Size Mattresses

An RV, a bunk, a camper dinette or a boat berth almost never takes a standard mattress. The frame is shorter, narrower, or a shape no factory makes. These are the mattresses we sell for those beds, either in an RV size we stock or cut to your measurements in our own shop in Brantford.

RV short queen is not a queen

A standard queen is 60 by 80 inches. An RV short queen is 60 by 74 inches, six inches shorter, and it is the size most Canadian trailers and motorhomes are built around. Bunks are usually 28 to 35 inches wide and RV twins run short as well. Measure the platform, not the old mattress: old foam compresses and shrinks, and a tape measure across the plywood is the number we cut to.

Cut to your size, two to three weeks

Anything else we cut to order. The 5 inch foam mattress is the one most RV and bunk owners buy, in a custom size taken from twin, double, queen or king, and it is our most-ordered mattress online. Restonit is particularly good at custom-fit RV mattresses and at fine-tuning a build to the firmness you want. Custom cuts also run on every Restonic and Restonit model, every C.J. Mulholland model and any Sleep In foam mattress, so the bed in a trailer does not have to be the cheapest foam in the catalogue.

Every measurement is confirmed by phone before anything is cut. Custom sizes are quoted individually, take two to three weeks whatever the brand, and carry the full manufacturer warranty. They are the one thing excluded from our 60-Night Comfort Guarantee, for the obvious reason that a mattress cut to your trailer cannot go back on our floor. That is why we confirm the numbers with you first.

Thickness matters more in a bunk than at home

A bunk with a guardrail needs the mattress to sit low enough that the rail still does its job, which is why the 5 inch and 6 inch builds exist. In a slide-out or under a low ceiling, height decides whether the bed closes. Tell us the clearance and we will tell you which thickness works.
