Split King is the configuration most couples choose: two Twin XL bases side by side, one remote each, and two Twin XL mattresses. If you want a single King mattress on a split base, call first; some mattresses bend well across the gap and some do not.
Which mattresses work on it
Memory foam, latex and hybrid mattresses with pocketed coils all bend with the base. Traditional innerspring mattresses with a continuous wire grid do not and should not be used. Does the SC4004 fit inside my existing bed frame?
Usually. With the legs set to the 3 inch minimum the base sits inside most platform and panel frames once the slats are removed, and the universal bracket lets you keep a headboard. Measure the inside of the frame against the footprint in the table above before ordering.
How is the SC4004 different from the SE-1005?
The SE-1005 lifts the head and foot and has a zero-gravity preset, and that is all. The SC4004 adds head tilt with lumbar support, massage, memory positions, under-bed lighting, a USB remote and a child lock, and carries a 10 year warranty. If you only want to raise your head for reading, the SE-1005 does it for less.
Is the massage strong enough to matter?
It is a vibration massage in the head and foot zones with adjustable intensity, useful for winding down; it is not a shiatsu chair. Try it on the floor model in Brantford before deciding it is worth the step up.
