If you have ever spent a night under a proper goose down duvet, you know the difference. The Sopron is Highland Feather's finest white goose down duvet, filled with 850 loft Hungarian white goose down clusters and made in Toronto, Canada. Not just assembled, but made there, by people who have been doing it for decades.
The 850 fill power is what separates this from most duvets on the market. Higher fill power means larger, better-formed clusters that trap more air per ounce of fill. The result is a duvet that feels substantial without feeling heavy, and warm without feeling smothering. The 700 thread count cotton sateen shell uses a square baffle box construction, which keeps the down distributed evenly rather than drifting to the edges and leaving you cold in the middle.
A minimum of 90% ethically sourced Hungarian goose down clusters go into every duvet, with up to 10% naturally occurring down fibres and small feathers from processing. Certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 and DOWNMARK, two of the more meaningful certifications in the bedding industry. Backed by a 15-year quality warranty.
Choosing Your Warmth Level
The Sopron is available in four fill weights. Same down, same shell, different amounts of fill:
- Summer, For warm sleepers, well-heated rooms, or summer use. The lightest option.
- All Season, The most versatile. Works year-round for most sleepers in a typical Canadian bedroom. This is where most customers land.
- All Season Warm, For bedrooms that run cool, cold sleepers, or Ontario winters in older homes without supplemental heat.
- Deluxe, The heaviest fill. For those who genuinely run cold or simply want as much down as the shell will hold.
Not sure which to choose? Call us at (519) 770-0001 and we are happy to talk it through. It is a meaningful purchase and we would rather you get the right one.

Where the Sopron sits in the Highland Feather range
The Sopron White Goose Down Duvet is white goose down at 850 loft in a 700 thread count cotton sateen shell. It is the best step of the six Highland Feather down duvets Mattress Miracle stocks, a ladder we cut from twenty-two builds after six months of watching what customers actually bought. Queen prices run $1,114 in Summer weight to $1,572 in Deluxe; All Season is $1,274.
- One step down: the Mostar 750 Loft Hungarian White Goose Down Duvet, $808 Queen All Season, with Hungarian white goose down, 750 loft, 500 thread count cotton sateen shell.
- One step up: the Duszan 950 Loft Polish White Goose Down Duvet, $1,772 Queen All Season, with Polish white goose down, 950 loft, 500 thread count cotton sateen shell.
Every duvet in the range is made to order in Toronto with square baffle box construction and a 15 year warranty; the price differences buy loft (a lighter duvet for the same warmth) and shell smoothness. Compare all six side by side on the Highland Feather range page. Highland Feather makes other builds (Hutterite 725 loft, 800 loft duck, 700 thread count shells) that we no longer list online; call (519) 770-0001 and we can still order them.
Washing this duvet
Keep it inside a cover you wash weekly and the duvet itself only needs washing once or twice a year. Use a large front loading washer, cool water, a gentle cycle and a small dose of mild detergent, then dry on low heat with wool or tennis balls until every part of it is bone dry, which usually takes two to three hours. A damp centre inside a dry shell is how mildew starts, so err on the side of another 30 minutes. Our down duvet washing guide has the full method.
