If you've ever woken up with achy legs, swollen ankles, or lower-back stiffness, a leg wedge can quietly change how you feel in the morning. The Symbia 08° is a reversible gel-memory-foam wedge designed to do two different jobs depending on which side you flip it to.

Two Positions, Two Purposes

That's the trick with this wedge. It's reversible, and the side you sleep on matters.

  • High side under the knees: gives the most lift, which supports the sacro-lumbar region. Good for lower-back tension or anyone recovering from a long day on their feet.
  • Low side under the knees: a gentler elevation that helps blood and lymph fluid drain back toward the heart. Useful for swelling, tired legs, or post-surgery circulation support.

The 8° angle is intentionally modest. Steeper isn't always better for legs (it puts pressure on the knees), and this wedge is designed to elevate without strain.

What's Inside

  • Top layer: Gel-infused viscoelastic memory foam (sleeps cooler than standard memory foam)
  • Support core: High-density polyurethane foam (holds its shape under body weight)
  • Cover: Coconut polyester knit, antibacterial and hypoallergenic, machine washable in cold water
  • Dimensions: 20" wide, 22" long, 5.5" tall at the highest point
  • Warranty: 5-year manufacturer warranty from Orthex Canada

Why Leg Elevation Helps

Elevating the legs slightly above heart level uses gravity to help return venous blood and lymph fluid to the heart, which can reduce evening swelling in the lower legs and ankles. Vascular research suggests that even modest elevation during sleep can improve overnight circulation in people who stand for long stretches during the day. If you have a circulation-related medical condition, talk to your doctor about whether passive leg elevation fits your treatment plan.

Who This Is For

Dorothy here. We see customers reach for this wedge for a handful of reasons. Standing all day at work and coming home with heavy legs. Pregnancy-related swelling. Recovery after knee or hip surgery. Mild lower-back tension that gets worse the longer you lie flat. If any of that sounds familiar, this wedge is worth a try.

How to Use It

Place the wedge under your calves and knees, not under your feet alone. Your knees should rest near the highest point of the wedge so they have a soft bend. A small bend at the knee takes pressure off the lower back too. Give yourself a week of consistent use before deciding if it's helping. The body adjusts gradually to a new sleep position.
