Modern electric mattress pads with CSA or ULC certification include automatic shut-off timers, overheat protection sensors, and low-voltage technology that make them safe for overnight use. What size electric mattress pad do I need for a Canadian queen mattress?

A standard Canadian queen mattress measures 60 inches by 80 inches. Choose an electric mattress pad labelled "queen" that fits mattresses up to 18 inches deep if you have a pillow-top or Euro-top model. Can I wash an electric mattress pad in a regular washing machine?

Most electric mattress pads are machine washable once you disconnect the controller and power cord. Use a gentle cycle with cold or warm water and mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Never dry clean an electric mattress pad, and never fold or bunch the heating wires when storing it during warmer months.
