Why Congestion Gets Worse When You Lie Down
Nasal congestion that feels manageable during the day routinely becomes much worse at night, and there is a clear physiological reason for this.
Your nasal passages contain an extensive network of blood vessels. When you are upright, gravity helps blood drain away from these vessels, keeping them at a relatively normal size.
