The Thermoregulation Cycle
Your hypothalamus acts like an internal thermostat. In the evening, it begins radiating heat through your hands and feet (this is why your extremities feel warm before bed). As heat leaves the core, melatonin production increases. A cool room, around 15 to 19°C, supports this natural process. A warm room fights it.
