• Published foam densities. While most competitors hid their foam specs behind marketing language, Novosbed disclosed densities of 3.7 to 5.0 lb/ft³. That transparency was rare and admirable.
• The Comfort+ system. If your Novosbed felt too firm or too soft, the company shipped a free 2-inch foam layer that zipped into the cover. You could adjust firmness without returning the entire mattress. Simple, clever, and customer-friendly.

What Replaced Novosbed: Octave

If you loved Novosbed and want its spiritual successor, that product is Octave. GoodMorning did not simply rename the mattress. They upgraded the internals:

If You Loved the Comfort+ Adjustment

The Comfort+ system was genuinely clever. Sleep In's answer is the flippable design: if one side feels too firm or too soft, flip the mattress. It is a different mechanism for solving the same problem (firmness uncertainty). The advantage of the flip is that you do not need to wait for an insert to ship. The disadvantage is that you get two options instead of a continuum.

Novosbed's final queen price was $999. Sleep In queen models range from $1,199 to $1,799. The Sleep In is more expensive. However, you are comparing an all-foam mattress to a pocketed coil hybrid with dual-sided construction. The material cost is genuinely higher. Whether the performance difference justifies the price depends on what you value.

If You Want to Stay in the GoodMorning Family

Octave (Novosbed's direct replacement) is a solid choice at ~$999 queen. It addresses the heat and zoning complaints. Logan & Cove adds pocketed coils if you want hybrid construction. Both are online-only with generous trial periods. Both are made in Canada by a company with an A+ BBB rating.

The Honest Assessment

Novosbed was a good mattress made by honest people. GoodMorning.com (the parent company) runs a clean operation with a 15-year BBB track record. If Novosbed still existed, this would be a more balanced comparison.

But it does not exist. And comparing a mattress you can buy, test in person, and have delivered with white glove service against a mattress that lives only in cached web pages is not really a comparison at all. It is a eulogy paired with a recommendation.
