- Yoga bolster: The most important prop. A bolster is a firm, cylindrical or rectangular cushion roughly 60 cm long. Substitutes: a tightly rolled firm blanket secured with a strap, a bed pillow inside a pillowcase, or a folded sleeping bag. Note that softer substitutes work for some poses but will compress under body weight in others.
- Two yoga blocks: Firm foam or cork blocks used to bring the floor closer or support the spine. Substitutes: thick hardcover books, a folded blanket stack. Height matters more than exact material.

The following poses are presented in a logical sequence moving from supported kneeling to reclined positions, which mirrors the natural progression toward sleep. Hold each pose for the indicated time, breathing naturally. If you feel sharp pain, discomfort in a joint, or numbness, exit the pose.
1. Supported Child's Pose (Salamba Balasana): Thoracic Opening and Vagal Activation
Setup: Place your bolster lengthwise on the mat. Kneel at one short end, with your knees wide enough to straddle the bolster. Sink your hips back toward your heels (sit on a block or folded blanket if your hips do not reach your heels comfortably). Lean forward and rest your torso fully along the bolster, turning your head to one side. Arms rest relaxed alongside the bolster or extended overhead. Cover yourself with a blanket if cool.
