Versaille 300TC Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set | Highland Feather

The Versaille is the sheet set Mattress Miracle sells most of after our French linen, and it is the one we put on a bed for customers who want cotton that feels smooth rather than crisp. Sateen is a weave where each thread passes over three or four before it dips under, so more thread lies on the surface and the sheet feels silkier and drapes closer to the body than a percale of the same count. At 300 threads per square inch in a single-ply combed long-staple Egyptian cotton, it is the sweet spot Dorothy points people to: high enough to feel dense and last through years of washing, low enough that the sheet still breathes. Higher counts in multi-ply yarns often feel heavier and warmer without wearing any better.

What is included

• 1 flat sheet
• 1 fitted sheet with a 17 inch drop and elastic all the way round, which fits a modern 12 to 15 inch mattress with a protector underneath
• 2 pillowcases in Double, Queen and King; 1 pillowcase in Twin

Dimensions

Measure your mattress depth before ordering. A 17 inch drop fits most mattresses up to about 15 inches with a protector on; deeper pillow tops need a deep pocket sheet, and our bed sheet size guide explains how to check.

Who the Versaille suits

• Sleepers who find linen too textured and want a smooth, slightly lustrous cotton
• Guest rooms and rental properties, because 300 thread count single-ply cotton takes weekly hot washes without pilling
• Anyone matching a duvet cover and pillowcases across a bedroom: the Versaille pillowcase pair comes in the same five colours
• Hot sleepers should look at the French linen sheet set instead; sateen holds a little more warmth than linen or percale

Colours and care

White, Pale Blue, Charcoal Grey, Silver Grey and Sand Beige. Wash warm or cold on a normal cycle with a mild detergent, no bleach and no fabric softener (softener coats cotton and stops it breathing). Tumble dry medium and take the sheets out while slightly damp if you want them to lie flat without ironing. Sateen can snag on rough skin or Velcro, so keep it away from pet claws and hook-side tabs. Rotate two sets and each will last years.
