5. A musty, sweet odour.

Large infestations produce a distinctive smell. It is often described as musty, sweet, or like coriander. You typically notice this only when the population has grown significantly.

Skin conditions. Eczema, hives, and contact dermatitis can look like bites. These usually have other symptoms like scaling or appear in areas that contact allergens.

It is difficult to say with certainty what caused bites without finding the culprit. If you suspect bed bugs, inspect your sleeping area thoroughly.

Do not sleep in a different room. Bed bugs follow carbon dioxide and body heat. Moving rooms spreads the infestation.
