Split King Beds: When One Mattress Isn't Working

What a Split King Actually Is

A split king is two twin XL mattresses placed side by side on one king frame. Same bed footprint as a regular king. Same sheet size fits over both. But underneath, each person has their own sleep surface.

The dimensions work out: two twin XLs (each 38" x 80") make a king (76" x 80"). You don't lose space. You gain independence.

The Awkward Middle Question
