- Energy Management: Devices can exchange energy pricing, tariffs, and carbon intensity data. Not directly sleep-related, but it enables smarter scheduling of heating and cooling cycles overnight.
The closures update is the big one for sleep. Automated blinds have existed for years, but they often needed proprietary bridges. Matter 1.5 means a pair of Eve MotionBlinds can join the same routine as your bedroom lights and thermostat, no extra hardware required.
IKEA Dirigera: The Budget-Friendly Smart Bedroom Hub
The IKEA Dirigera hub costs $109 CAD and, after a July 2025 software update, became a full Matter Controller and Thread Border Router. That's a lot of jargon for a simple idea: it's the cheapest way to run a complete smart bedroom.

Before the update, Dirigera only bridged IKEA's own Zigbee devices to Matter ecosystems.
