Natura Mattress Review Canada: Latex, Price, Lifespan and Allergies

Quick Answer: Natura mattresses are Canadian-made beds built from NaturaLatex, wool and cotton, sold as coil hybrids and all-latex models. At Mattress Miracle a queen runs $1,525.60 to $5,589. Latex and Eco models are listed with a 20-year warranty, double the Green Spring hybrids.

Close-up of the Natura Eco Brilliance cotton, wool and layered NaturaLatex build - Mattress Miracle Brantford

A Natura mattress is a layered bed from Natura World, a Canadian company founded in 1994 by Ralph Rossdeutscher and long based in Cambridge, Ontario, built from cotton ticking, a quilted layer of Pure Natura Grow Wool and NaturaLatex, the name Natura uses for its natural rubber latex foam. Mattress Miracle carries 18 Natura mattresses in three families: the Green Spring coil hybrids, the Natura Latex Line, and the Natura Organic Line, sold as the Eco models. Two of them, the Eco Brilliance and the Eco Transcend, sit on our showroom floor at 441 1/2 West Street in Brantford, so you can feel both the all-latex build and the latex-over-coil build before you order.

The other 16 are built to order by Natura in about four weeks. Most people who ask us about Natura have already read a few reviews and want three things answered: is it worth the money, how long will it last, and is the latex a problem for allergies. Those are the questions this page answers, using the prices and layer lists on our own latex mattress collection as of November 2026.

"People lie down on the Eco Brilliance expecting it to feel like memory foam, and it pushes back at them instead. Latex lifts you. Most customers know inside five minutes whether they like that. My advice is to judge the support core first, because a topper can change how a bed feels on top, but nothing you buy later fixes a core that's wrong for your body."

What is NaturaLatex?

NaturaLatex is Natura's name for the natural latex foam in its comfort layers and support cores. Natura says it uses both the Dunlop and Talalay processes. Talalay latex is vacuum-expanded and flash-frozen before curing, so it comes out lighter and springier; Dunlop is poured and baked, so it is denser and firmer.

What are the three Natura mattress lines?

Natura sells its mattresses in three lines, and the line tells you more about the feel and the warranty than the model name does. The Green Spring line puts wool and a latex or plant-based foam comfort layer over 1,020 individually wrapped coils (queen count) arranged in five support zones. The Natura Latex Line uses a 6-inch latex support core with no coils at all. The Natura Organic Line, the Eco models, uses Natura's own NaturaCoil unit or an all-latex core under cotton and wool.

Natura line What's inside Models we carry Queen price at Mattress Miracle Warranty
Green Spring Cotton, 2.3 lbs wool, plant-based quilt foam, latex (on most models) over 1,020 wrapped coils Reflection, Harmony, Serene, Tranquil, Ultimate $1,525.60 to $4,491.20 10 years
Natura Latex Line Cotton, 2.3 lbs wool, 1 inch EcoQuilt foam, latex comfort layers over a 6 inch latex core Solace, Blossom, Majestic, Sensation, Twilight, Premier, Sovereign $3,393.40 to $5,369 20 years
Natura Organic Line (Eco) Cotton, 2.3 lbs wool, 0.4 inch latex quilt, then NaturaCoil or an all-latex core Eco Serenity, Eco Oasis, Eco Transcend, Eco Haven, Eco Brilliance, Eco Sanctuary $1,635.60 to $5,589 20 years

One model breaks the pattern. The Sensation, in the Latex Line, puts 4 inches of memory foam over its latex core, so it has the slow sink of foam and the bounce of latex underneath. Every other Latex Line model runs latex from the comfort layer to the core.

Are Natura latex mattresses worth the price?

Natura latex mattresses are worth the price for sleepers who want natural latex and a long warranty and who like a buoyant, push-back feel. They're poor value for anyone who wants to sink into memory foam, anyone shopping under about $1,500 for a queen, or anyone with a latex allergy. Most of the money in a Natura goes into latex volume: the all-latex models carry 8 to 10 inches of it, where a typical hybrid carries two or three.

A warranty is the only lifespan number a manufacturer puts in writing, so we use it as a rough yardstick. Divide the queen price by the warranty years and the Eco Serenity works out to about $82 a year, the Blossom about $197, and the Eco Sanctuary about $279. A Restonic ComfortCare queen at $1,619 with a 10-year warranty lands near $162 a year. Warranty years aren't a promise of comfort for that long, but the comparison shows why the cheaper Eco models get so much attention at Mattress Miracle.

One caution on those warranty numbers. Our listings and Natura's Canadian product pages show 20 years on the Latex and Eco models and 10 years on Green Spring, but Natura's general warranty page describes a 10-year mattress warranty, and its FAQ ties the 20-year term to Organics Collection mattresses sold in the USA. Natura's FAQ counts body impressions deeper than 1.5 inches as a defect. Before you order, ask us for the written warranty card for your exact model, and we'll get it from Natura.

Where a Natura is good value, and where it isn't

  • Best value in the range: the Eco Serenity ($1,635.60 queen) and Eco Oasis ($2,295.60), both on the 20-year warranty. The Serenity carries only a 0.4 inch latex quilt, so it feels mostly like coils and wool.
  • The jump that changes the feel: going from one 2 inch latex comfort layer (Eco Haven, Blossom) to two (Eco Brilliance, Twilight) gives your hips and shoulders more room before they meet the firm core.
  • Hard to justify for most people: paying top-of-line prices for height alone. The Ultimate (16 inches) and Eco Sanctuary (11 inches) are lovely beds, but their extra cost buys latex thickness, and a lighter sleeper may never use it.
  • Skip Natura if you want a deep, slow memory foam hug. The Sensation is the only model built for that, and a foam mattress will do it for less.

How long does a Natura latex mattress last compared to other brands?

A Natura latex mattress is built to outlast most foam and coil mattresses, and the listed warranties point the same way: 20 years on the Latex and Eco lines, against 10 years on Natura's own Green Spring hybrids and on most of the Restonic models we carry. We don't know of an independent long-term study that compares how many years each brand actually lasts, so be wary of any page that quotes one. The materials explain the gap. Latex foam springs back to shape after compression instead of slowly softening where you sleep, which is the usual way polyurethane comfort foam fails.

The weak point in a latex bed is usually the cover and the comfort layer, and on the Majestic, Twilight and Sovereign the soft and medium-firm comfort layers are separate pieces, which is what lets Natura build each side of the bed differently. A coil hybrid like the Eco Transcend adds a second wear point, the coil unit, which is why Natura's hybrids and all-latex beds don't age the same way. Our guide to latex mattress lifespan covers the care side: a solid or closely slatted foundation, and a rotation every few months for the first year.

"The latex beds that come back to us with problems almost always have a foundation problem. Wide slats, a sagging old box spring, a frame with no centre support. Latex is heavy and it follows whatever's under it. Put it on something solid and it'll be the last part of the bedroom you replace."

Is a Natura mattress made with natural latex?

Natura mattresses are made with natural latex, which Natura brands as NaturaLatex, and several models, including the Sovereign, Twilight and Premier, specify Talalay latex. Natura's Go Green page says NaturaLatex is pure natural latex with no synthetic blends, made with a combination of the Dunlop and Talalay processes; the Sovereign page specifies 100% NaturaLatex Talalay. "Made with natural latex" and "100% natural" are different claims, though, and only some Natura models meet the second one.

  • Cotton, wool and latex only, with no foam layer at all: Eco Haven, Eco Brilliance and Eco Sanctuary.
  • Latex plus a 1 inch EcoQuilt foam quilting layer: Solace, Blossom, Majestic, Twilight, Premier and Sovereign.
  • Latex over coils with a plant-based quilt foam: the Green Spring models. The Reflection has no latex comfort layer, just wool and foam over the coils.
  • Memory foam over a latex core: the Sensation.

Certification is where we're careful. Natura describes the Eco Brilliance and Eco Transcend as made with GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool, and lists no organic certification for the latex in them. Natura's own site says its natural latex is certified to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) and lists GOTS-certified organic materials on models such as the Sovereign, Eco Sanctuary and Eco Serenity, but those pages don't link a certificate. We don't call any Natura mattress "organic latex" or GOLS certified unless we've seen the certificate, and Mattress Miracle hasn't seen one for the models we carry. If organic certification matters to you, ask us to check a specific model before you order.

Is a Natura latex mattress good for allergies?

A Natura latex mattress is a poor choice for anyone with a latex allergy, and we won't tell you otherwise. Latex allergy is a reaction to proteins in natural rubber from the Hevea brasiliensis tree. A 2016 review in the Journal of Occupational Health by Wu, McIntosh and Liu put average latex allergy prevalence at 4.3% of the general population and 9.7% of healthcare workers, and a 2021 World Allergy Organization review by Parisi and colleagues gives a general-population range from under 1% to 7.6%. When Chardin and colleagues at the Institut Pasteur tested five latex foam mattresses in 1999, they found latex proteins and allergens in the ones made with natural latex and none in the synthetic foam.

Natura beds have cotton and 2.3 lbs of wool between you and the latex. Nobody has published a study measuring whether that layer prevents reactions, so we treat it as unknown. A follow-up by the same Institut Pasteur team in 2000 identified the allergen Hev b 1 in natural latex mattresses and suggested it may be the last protein to wash out. A 2020 review in the Journal of Asthma and Allergy by Nucera and colleagues places the highest risk on dipped products such as gloves, which get little heat and a short cure, and doesn't address foam bedding at all. The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety advises anyone who reacts to latex to see an allergist, and notes that some people allergic to banana, avocado, kiwi or chestnut also react to latex.

Dust mite allergies are a separate question. Natura says its latex resists dust mites better than other foams, but we found no independent study comparing mite levels in latex and other mattress foams, so treat that as the maker's claim. A washable cover such as the Natura washable wool mattress protector, laundered regularly, is the practical step we suggest, alongside whatever your allergist recommends.

Medical Disclaimer: This section is general information, not medical advice. If you have a latex allergy, think you might, or have a health condition that affects your sleep, talk to your family doctor or an allergist before you choose a mattress. If you're told to avoid latex, skip every Natura model and ask us about the latex-free beds we carry.

Which Natura mattress fits how you sleep?

The right Natura mattress depends mostly on how you sleep and what you weigh, and less on which line it belongs to. Side sleepers need enough soft latex on top for the shoulder to sink in; back and stomach sleepers need a firmer surface so the hips don't drop. Couples who disagree on firmness should look at the models built with separate, swappable comfort layers.

If you... Start with Why
Sleep on your side Majestic, Twilight or Tranquil Soft latex over a firmer layer, or 4 inches of ultra plush Talalay over coils
Sleep on your back Eco Brilliance or Blossom All-latex support with a single or double comfort layer
Sleep hot Eco Transcend or Harmony Air moves through the coil unit, and wool wicks moisture
Share the bed and disagree on firmness Sovereign or Eco Haven Each side can be built with a different comfort layer
Want Natura on a budget Eco Serenity or Reflection Queens under $1,650 with wool and wrapped coils

"Side sleepers around 130 to 180 pounds usually end up on two inches of soft latex over a medium layer, which is the Majestic or Twilight. Heavier side sleepers often prefer the Tranquil, because the coils underneath carry the weight and the four inches of Talalay on top still lets the shoulder in. If someone tells me they want to feel 'held' rather than lifted, I walk them to a different bed altogether."

Mattress Miracle sells Natura mattresses in person at our Brantford showroom and online with free courier shipping across Canada once the mattress is built. Most Natura models are built to order, about four weeks per the listing. Feeling a Natura before you buy it

We keep the Eco Brilliance and Eco Transcend on the floor because they cover both sides of the range: one is latex from top to bottom, the other is latex over coils. Lie on each for ten minutes in your normal sleep position and you'll know which camp you're in, which narrows 18 models down to a handful. If you're in Calgary, Halifax or anywhere a showroom visit isn't practical, call us and we'll walk through the layers by phone. Natura pillows are on the floor too, and many people start there; our Natura pillow comparison covers all seven.
