Quick Answer: Vancouver has long-running independent mattress stores, such as Mr. Mattress on Venables Street (est. 1964) and Sleep Shop on West Broadway, plus furniture chains and online brands. Pick the seller that discloses construction, writes down its exchange terms and quotes the delivered price. Budget for the old bed too: the City of Vancouver charges $20 per mattress to recycle it.

Vancouver buyers choose among four kinds of mattress store: independent shops, furniture chains, online brands and out-of-province specialists that ship by courier. Mattress Miracle is the fourth kind, a family-owned store in Brantford, Ontario, open since 1997, with no showroom in British Columbia. Read our view with that bias in mind. Our guide to where to buy a mattress anywhere in Canada weighs the same channels nationally.
What reaches Vancouver from Mattress Miracle is a short list. Five Sleep In models, two Restonit models and all 18 Natura mattresses, which ship rolled to BC, go free by courier. These are the mattresses we offer for delivery to BC. Outside 200 km of Brantford there is no white glove setup and no old-mattress removal.
Two promises matter most when a store is far away. A comfort exchange lets you swap a mattress that feels wrong within a set window, usually counted in nights. A warranty covers manufacturing defects, such as a sag deeper than the maker allows or a broken coil, and it never covers comfort. Ask about both, in writing, before you pay.

Where Is the Best Place to Buy a Mattress in Vancouver?
The best place to buy a mattress in Vancouver is a store that tells you what is inside the mattress and puts its exchange terms in writing. It should also quote a delivered price, old-mattress removal included. For most people, that means a local store. A courier shipper suits buyers who already know the feel they want, once the exchange cost is known. Our Canadian mattress buying guide explains the coil, foam, latex and hybrid builds you'll be shown.
Mattress Stores in Vancouver by Type
| Type of Store | What You Get | What to Watch | Old Mattress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local independent store or maker | You lie on it first; staff who can name the coil count and foam | House model names you can't price-check elsewhere | Often taken away; ask the fee |
| Furniture chain or big box store | Many brands in one visit, financing | Store-exclusive models and constant "sale" pricing | Varies by store |
| Online mattress brand | Home trial, delivery to the door | No test before you buy; pickup and refund terms | Rarely included |
| Out-of-province specialist (Mattress Miracle is one) | Canadian-made lines, help by phone | No showroom to visit; you pay the exchange delivery | Not offered by courier; you recycle it |
"The most common mistake I see is people buying a mattress the same way they buy a TV, by comparing brand names and prices online. A mattress is not a standardized product. Two mattresses at the same price from different retailers can feel completely different and last very different amounts of time. The materials inside matter more than the label on the outside."

Independent Mattress Stores in Vancouver and Nearby
Independent mattress stores in Vancouver include shops that have sold mattresses for decades. The four below are listed with only what each store says about itself on its own website, checked October 9, 2026. Mattress Miracle has no business relationship with any of them. They appear in alphabetical order, and we don't rank them. Hours and stock change, so call before you drive.
Vancouver-Area Mattress Stores, From Their Own Websites
| Store | Address | What the Store Says It Offers |
|---|---|---|
| King of Mattresses | 2162 Kingsway, Vancouver | Canadian-made mattresses, natural latex and hybrid beds, pocket coil mattresses, adjustable bases and cabinet beds |
| Mr. Mattress | 1315 Venables Street, Vancouver | Family owned, established 1964; locally made continuous coil and pocket coil mattresses; custom mattresses for boats, RVs and campers |
| Sleep Majestic | 730 Chester Road, Delta | Latex, hybrid latex and futon mattresses from its family-owned Metro Vancouver factory; hand-making mattresses in its own Canadian factory since 1985; formerly at 4th and Burrard in Kitsilano |
| Sleep Shop | 1001 West Broadway, Vancouver; also North Vancouver, Richmond and Langley | Memory foam, hybrid, latex, coil and bed-in-a-box mattresses, with a Canadian-made section; "47 Years of Excellence" |
If you can, lie on a mattress in a local store before you pay, and write down the layers and coil count of the bed you like.

Buying a Mattress From Outside BC: What to Check First
Before you buy a mattress from a store outside BC, from us or anyone else, get these four answers in writing.
- The supply date. Consumer Protection BC's online purchase guidance says that if an online order is not supplied within 30 days of the promised date, you can cancel and ask for a refund. With no date given, the 30 days run from the purchase. The business then has 15 days to refund you.
- The form it ships in. A rolled or boxed mattress travels by courier and expands after unrolling. A flat, full-size mattress usually comes by truck in a booked window.
- The exchange delivery charge. An exchange at a distance means a courier trip each way, and many stores pass that cost on. Get the figure to your postal code.
- Warranty handling. Ask whether the store or the maker takes a claim, and what proof they need. Keep the receipt and the law tag.
Mattress Miracle's answers for Vancouver start with timing. Checkout lists free shipping in 3 to 7 business days for the Sleep In and Restonit models; most Natura models are first built to order, about four weeks. Our 60-Night Comfort Guarantee terms apply wherever the mattress goes: 60 nights from delivery, one exchange, no exchange fee. You pay the exchange delivery, and there is no published courier figure to BC, so call (519) 770-0001 for the number to your address first. The mattress must be like new, used with a mattress protector. Warranties are the maker's, where a product page states one.
"If our service or our product is inferior, or you feel you have been unjustly dealt with, I want you to call me. Our customer base is our family. We don't want them upset. We want them happy with our product."

Under $700: Embassy, Paradise and Cool Breeze
The Sleep In Embassy Euro Top ($605 queen) is a one-sided bio foam bed with a euro top, a fair pick for a guest room or first apartment. Its listing names no warranty, so ask before you order. The Paradise rolled hybrid ($695) puts pocket coils under foam in an 11-inch, medium bed. The Cool Breeze cooling hybrid ($695) is the medium-firm one, with a Cool Max surface fabric over a gel layer and coils.
Around $1,000: Comfort Sleep and Gel Comfort
The Sleep In Comfort Sleep ($965 queen) lists its build in detail. It has 936 pocket coils in five zones under 3 inches of medium-soft bio foam. The wire is 1.8 mm at the head, legs and lower back and 2.2 mm at the sides. The Gel Comfort memory foam mattress ($1,129) is all foam, 10 inches, medium. Its own listing says a coil hybrid will typically sleep cooler than any all-foam bed, so warm sleepers should lean to Comfort Sleep.
About $1,850: Organique and Frost by Restonit
Restonit's Organique and Frost are two of our top sellers, and both ship across Canada. The Restonit Organique ($1,831 queen) layers 4 lb gel memory foam over natural Talalay latex on a soy-based foam core, 10 inches under a quilted cotton cover. The Frost gel foam mattress ($1,852) is a 12-inch bed with an ice gel layer and gel memory foam over nano coils (small springs) and a soy-based foam base, under a zip-off cover. Both list 10-year non-prorated warranties and say made in Canada. Our natural latex mattress guide explains how Talalay latex feels.
Natura: Built to Order, From $1,525.60
Natura's 18 models start with the Natura Green Spring Reflection at $1,525.60 for a queen: 1,020 wrapped coils in five zones under wool, 10.5 inches, 10-year warranty. They top out with the Eco Sanctuary at $5,589. The product titles say white glove delivery is included; that applies only within 200 km of Brantford. In Vancouver a Natura arrives rolled by courier, after about four weeks of build time for most models.
A Phone Walk-Through, on Pacific Time
With no BC showroom, Mattress Miracle brings the floor to you by phone. Call (519) 770-0001 while the Brantford store is open and an advisor will walk it with you. In Vancouver that is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Ask any seller of rolled foam how long it sat compressed. We order most of our rolled foam to order, so it is opened within weeks of compression. Prefer writing? Send your measurements and questions through the Mattress Miracle contact form.
Mattress Sale in Vancouver: How to Tell a Real Discount
A mattress sale in Vancouver is only a discount if the "regular" price was real. Competition Bureau Canada's ordinary selling price guidance sets two tests, and a regular price must pass one of them. Under the volume test, more than 50% of the product's sales were at that price or higher, usually within a year before or after the promotion. Under the time test, the product was offered in good faith at that price or higher for a substantial period, usually within a year. A "was $2,999" tag on a mattress that never sold at $2,999 fails both.
- Ask how many units sold at the regular price in the last year.
- Ask whether the model is sold elsewhere under the same name. Store-exclusive names stop you from comparing.
- Ask for the delivered price, with old-mattress removal and tax.
Mattress Miracle sets no compare-at "was" price on the models in this guide, and how our prices are set is written out on one page. Our guide to reading Black Friday mattress deals in Canada applies the same tests to the November rush. For the rest of the year, see finding real mattress deals across Canada.
Mattress Delivery to a Vancouver Condo or Apartment
Mattress delivery to a Vancouver condo or apartment goes smoothly when the building knows it's coming. Strata and rental buildings set their own move rules. Ask your strata manager or landlord whether you need to book the elevator or a loading spot, and for which hours. Then measure the elevator door, the cab and any tight hallway turn. A queen is 60 by 80 inches flat.
A rolled mattress changes the math. The Paradise listing describes its rolled form as roughly the size of a large duffel bag. Courier delivery comes without setup, so ask whether the driver brings it to your unit or leaves it in the lobby. Unroll it on the frame and give it 24 to 48 hours to reach full shape, per the Paradise and Gel Comfort listings. Our explainer on how rolled and boxed mattresses work in Canada covers unpacking in more detail.
Mattress Disposal and Recycling in Vancouver
Mattress disposal in Vancouver costs $20 per piece at two City of Vancouver sites, according to the City's landfill and transfer station rate tables. They are the Vancouver South Transfer Station and the Vancouver Landfill and Zero Waste Centre in Delta. The fee covers mattresses of all types, including foam, futons and box springs, which go to recycling. The City's mattress recycling page sets a limit of 4 pieces per customer a day, down from 8 at the landfill before June 1, 2025. Metro Vancouver's Central Surrey and North Surrey centres also take mattresses and box springs. Under Metro Vancouver's tipping fees in force from July 1, 2026, they charge $20 each, maximum 4 units.
Getting Rid of a Mattress in Vancouver: The Rules
- Never leave it in the lane or on the street. The City calls that illegal dumping, and you could be fined.
- Mattresses are on Metro Vancouver's banned materials list, so they can't go in a garbage load. A load with one draws a minimum $80 surcharge, plus the potential cost of removal or clean-up.
- A mattress with bed bugs can still be recycled at City sites for the same fee, depending on contamination. Wrap it in a plastic mattress bag or sheeting, seal it and label it "contains bedbugs."
- For more than 4 at once, the City points you to private mattress recycling companies. It also lists a private pickup service.
British Columbia has no producer-paid mattress recycling program yet, so the fee falls on whoever drops the mattress off. The province's 2021 to 2026 extended producer responsibility plan committed to regulating mattresses, then delayed it. In 2025 the Union of BC Municipalities endorsed a resolution asking the Province to act now. The Ministry of Environment and Parks replied that the delay is temporary.
Mattress Miracle's $20 old-mattress removal runs only within 200 km of Brantford, so a Vancouver buyer handles the old bed locally. Our roundup of mattress recycling options in every province compares BC with the rest of Canada.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which mattress store in Vancouver is considered the best?
There is no official ranking, and star ratings blend price, service and delivery into one number. Judge a store on what it discloses: the layers inside, written exchange terms, the delivered price and what happens to your old mattress. Then lie on the finalists for ten minutes each.
Are mattresses at Costco cheaper?
A lower sticker price only saves money if the mattress lasts as long. At any store, ask for the coil count, wire gauge and foam density, then divide the price by the years you expect to keep it. Our warehouse-club mattress buying guide lists what to check there.
Who has the best mattress for the money?
The seller who tells you exactly what you're paying for. At Mattress Miracle, the lowest-priced queen that ships to Vancouver is the Sleep In Embassy at $605. The Comfort Sleep at $965 lists its 936 pocket coils and wire gauges on its product page. For tighter budgets, see our list of low-cost mattress options that still last.
What mattress to stay away from?
Skip any mattress whose seller can't tell you what is inside it, and any "sale" price that fails the Competition Bureau's regular-price tests. Be wary of rolled foam that sat compressed for months, and of second-hand mattresses, which can carry bed bugs.
Is a queen bigger than a double in Canada?
Yes. A Canadian queen is 60 by 80 inches and a double is 54 by 75, so a queen is 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer. Sheets for one won't fit the other.
What is a hybrid mattress?
A hybrid mattress has pocketed coils (springs each wrapped in fabric) under foam or latex comfort layers. The coils add bounce and airflow, and the top layers relieve pressure. Our hybrid mattress guide covers how to compare coil counts.
Are mattresses in a box worth buying?
They can be, if the construction is disclosed and you know what an exchange costs. Ask how long it sat compressed, and allow 24 to 48 hours before sleeping on it.
What is the best brand of mattress in Canada?
No single brand suits every body or budget. Look for a Canadian maker that discloses its layers and backs a long warranty. We ship Sleep In, Restonit and Natura to BC; our guide to Canadian mattress companies covers more makers.
