Restonit Oasis 3-zone hybrid mattress review construction who it suits Canada

Restonit Oasis Mattress Review: 3-Zone Hybrid with Cool Gel Foam

Quick Answer: The Restonit Oasis is a Canadian-made hybrid mattress with 3-zone pocket coils and cool gel foam for $1,145. It ships rolled and compressed, works with adjustable bed bases, and delivers a medium-firm feel suited to back and side sleepers. It is one of the best mid-range hybrids we carry at Mattress Miracle.

What Is the Restonit Oasis?

The Restonit Oasis is a hybrid mattress made in Canada that combines pocket coils with gel-infused foam layers. At $1,145 for a queen, it sits in the mid-range of our mattress lineup, between the entry-level Borealis Gel ($585) and the flagship Cloud Vapor Copper Gel ($1,400).

What separates the Oasis from a standard foam mattress is the 3-zone coil system. The coils are arranged in three firmness zones: softer under the shoulders, firmer under the hips and lower back, and medium under the legs. This zoned approach means you do not have to choose between a mattress that is soft enough for your shoulders and firm enough for your lumbar region. The coils handle both.

Brad, Owner, 40+ years of experience: "Restonit mattresses ship rolled and compressed, which makes them easy to get through tight hallways and up narrow staircases. But do not let the shipping method fool you. Once the Oasis expands, it performs like a traditional hybrid. The 3-zone coils give it a level of support you do not get from foam-only mattresses at this price."

Construction and Materials

Restonit Oasis 3-zone hybrid construction support system zoned coils comfort layers gel foam

The Oasis is built in layers, each serving a specific purpose. Here is what is inside, from top to bottom.

Layer Material Purpose
Top cover Quilted knit fabric Soft initial feel, breathable
Comfort layer Cool gel memory foam Pressure relief, temperature regulation
Transition layer High-density foam Prevents sinking through to coils
Support core 3-zone pocket coils Zoned support, airflow, edge stability
Base High-density foam encasement Edge support, structural integrity

Why 3-Zone Coils Matter

A 2018 study in Applied Ergonomics found that zoned mattress systems reduced spinal deviation during sleep compared to uniform-firmness surfaces, particularly for side sleepers whose shoulder and hip regions require different levels of give. The researchers noted that zoned support reduced pressure peaks by up to 32% at the shoulder area. The Oasis uses this same principle: softer coils where your shoulders press in, firmer coils where your hips need support.

The cool gel foam in the comfort layer is worth mentioning specifically. Gel particles are infused throughout the foam, not just applied as a surface layer. This means the cooling effect does not wear off as the surface layer compresses over time. In our experience, gel-infused foam sleeps noticeably cooler than standard memory foam, though it will not feel as cold as the FROST Ice Gel ($1,525), which uses a more aggressive cooling technology.

Who Is the Oasis Best For?

Who the Restonit Oasis hybrid mattress suits side sleepers heavier buyers hot sleepers Canada

After helping customers test this mattress in our Brantford showroom, here is who we think it suits best.

Ideal Sleeper Profile

  • Back sleepers (130-250 lbs): The zoned coils provide firm lumbar support while the gel foam cradles the upper back. This is the sweet spot for the Oasis.
  • Side sleepers (under 200 lbs): The softer shoulder zone allows enough sinkage for proper alignment. Heavier side sleepers may want the Cloud Vapor for deeper pressure relief.
  • Couples: Pocket coils isolate motion well. One partner rolling over should not wake the other. The queen size at $1,145 makes it accessible for couples on a budget.
  • Hot sleepers: The combination of gel foam and coil airflow keeps the mattress cooler than all-foam alternatives. Not the coldest mattress we sell, but a significant improvement over standard memory foam.
  • Adjustable bed owners: Restonit mattresses are designed to flex with adjustable bases. The Oasis bends without damaging the coil system.

Who Should Look Elsewhere

  • Stomach sleepers: The gel foam comfort layer may allow too much hip sinkage for strict stomach sleepers. Consider the firmer Pocket Care Premium ($845) instead.
  • Sleepers over 250 lbs: The Oasis is medium-firm but not extra-firm. Heavier sleepers who need maximum support should look at the Cloud Vapor Copper Gel ($1,400) with its 14-inch profile, or a Restonic with higher coil counts.
  • People who want a flippable mattress: The Oasis is one-sided. For a double-sided option, the Sleep In flippable range starts at $675.

Oasis vs Other Restonit Models

Restonit makes several mattresses, all rolled and shipped compressed. Here is how the Oasis compares to its siblings in our lineup.

Model Price (Queen) Type Best For
5" Foam $80 Foam only RV, bunk beds, temporary use
6" BioFoam $100 Foam only Budget, guest rooms
10" BioFoam $275 Foam only Entry-level full comfort
8" Ruby BioFoam $300 Foam only Eco-friendly, mid-height
Borealis Gel $585 Gel foam Cooling on a budget
Exquisite $840 Gel memory foam Medium-firm, gel comfort
Pocket Care Premium $845 Pocket coil Traditional coil feel
Glacier Peyto $1,000-$1,045 Foam hybrid Adjustable-friendly, rolled
Oasis $1,145 3-zone hybrid Zoned support, cooling, couples
Cloud Vapor Copper Gel $1,400 Copper gel pillowtop Luxury cooling, 14" profile
FROST Ice Gel $1,525 Ice gel premium Maximum cooling technology
Organic $1,582 Organic materials Chemical-free, eco-premium

The Oasis sits at the inflection point in the Restonit lineup. Below it, you are getting foam-only construction or basic pocket coils. Above it, you are paying for premium materials like copper gel or ice gel. The Oasis gives you zoned coils and cool gel foam, which we think is the most practical combination of features for the price.

Dorothy, Sleep Specialist: "I often recommend the Oasis to customers who come in asking about the Cloud Vapor. The Cloud Vapor is excellent, but at $1,400 it is not in everyone's budget. The Oasis gives you 80% of the Cloud Vapor experience for about $250 less. The main thing you give up is the copper infusion and the extra pillowtop height."

Adjustable Bed Compatibility

One of the biggest advantages of Restonit mattresses over traditional brands is their compatibility with adjustable bed bases. The Oasis is specifically designed to bend with motorized bases without voiding the warranty or damaging the coil system.

Pair It With Our Adjustable Bases

We carry two adjustable bed options at Mattress Miracle in Brantford:

  • Affordable Adjustable Bed ($1,100) - German motor, head and foot elevation, wireless remote. Pairs with the Oasis for a total of $2,245.
  • Deluxe Adjustable Bed ($1,350) - 15 massage modes, USB charging, under-bed lighting. Pairs with the Oasis for a total of $2,495.

Both bases are on display in our showroom at 441½ West Street. You can test the Oasis on an adjustable base before you buy.

Important note: Restonit and Restonic are two separate brands. Restonit mattresses (like the Oasis) are rolled, compressed, and adjustable-friendly. Restonic mattresses are traditional innerspring/hybrid mattresses that are not designed for adjustable bases. If you have an adjustable bed, make sure you are looking at Restonit, not Restonic.

Delivery and Setup

The Oasis ships rolled and compressed in a box, which gives you two delivery options.

Delivery Options

Option 1: White glove delivery from Mattress Miracle. Our team delivers to your bedroom, sets up the mattress, removes all packaging, and takes away your old mattress if needed. We use shoe covers and floor protection. Available throughout Brantford and surrounding areas including Hamilton, Burlington, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge, Mississauga, Toronto, London, Barrie, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Oshawa.

Option 2: Ship anywhere in Canada. Because the Oasis compresses into a manageable box, we can ship it via courier to any Canadian address. You unbox it yourself, cut the plastic wrap, and let it expand for 24-48 hours.

If you are ordering from outside our delivery area, the rolled format makes it possible to get a proper hybrid mattress with zoned coils shipped to your door. Many hybrid mattresses from traditional brands cannot be shipped this way because they do not compress without damaging the coil system.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Restonit Oasis take to fully expand?

Most customers report full expansion within 24-48 hours. The mattress is usable after about 4-6 hours, but give it a full day for the foam layers to reach their intended firmness and height. Sleep on it after the first night, but know it will continue to settle slightly over the first week.

Does the Oasis work on a platform bed without a box spring?

Yes. The Oasis works on any flat, solid surface: platform beds, slatted frames (with slats no more than 3 inches apart), adjustable bases, or even the floor. You do not need a box spring. In fact, we recommend a platform bed or foundation over a box spring for better support and longevity.

How does the Oasis compare to Restonic mattresses?

The Oasis is made by Restonit, which is a separate brand from Restonic. Restonit mattresses are rolled, shipped compressed, and designed for adjustable beds. Restonic mattresses are traditional construction with higher coil counts (up to 1,440) and are not adjustable-friendly. Restonic is the premium line; Restonit is the practical, ship-anywhere line. Read our Restonit vs Restonic comparison for the full breakdown.

Is the Oasis good for back pain?

The 3-zone coil system is specifically designed to support the lumbar region with firmer coils while allowing the shoulders and hips to sink appropriately. A 2015 review in Sleep Health found that medium-firm mattresses were associated with lower pain intensity and better sleep quality in people with chronic low back pain. The Oasis falls within that medium-firm range. That said, mattress selection for back pain is personal, and we always recommend trying it in-store if possible.

Can I try the Oasis before buying?

Yes. We have the Oasis on display in our Brantford showroom at 441½ West Street. Come in any day of the week and spend as long as you need on it. Our team does not work on commission, so there is no pressure to buy. Call Talia at (519) 770-0001 to confirm it is on the floor before you visit.
